Please see this faq entry for a description of journal grades. Also, if you see some codes in your journal, that's called a rubrik. A rubrik is a way of communicating an idea to many people without writing the same thing over and over again. For instance, if you see "E", that's telling you that you drew electric field lines without a direction.
For a listing of rubrik codes and what they mean, see this faq entry.
When computing the grades, I tried to read everything, but concentrated on:
- Electrostatic Fields: Exercise 3.
- Electrostatic Potentials: Gradients and Fields, questions 1, 2 and 3.
- Potential Difference:: The think-share-pair question.
- Flux: The think-share-pair questions.
- Flux: Exercise 4
- DC Circuits: Exercises 1 and 2.
I have solutions to some of these problems with me. Come up and ask me if you want to see them.
If you want tips on how to increase your score for the 2nd journal collection, read this FAQ entry.
Also, hang on to your work. When you hand in the work at the end of the quarter, I'd like to see Journal 1 as well as Journal 2. If I see an improvement, I might give extra points.
If there are any questions you have, or if there's information that you'd like to see on this website that isn't here, please email me. and let me know.
