Important Announcement

Because of several competing events, hotel rooms in Davis are in fairly short supply the days of the conference. In particular, most of the main downtown Davis hotels are completely booked. Here is a clickable map of all the hotels in relation to the PCGM.

We recommend that you make your reservations as soon as possible.

Comfort Suites

We have arranged a block of 30 rooms at the Comfort Suites. The cost will be $79 per night for a room with one bed, or $89 per night for a room with two beds. This hotel is just outside central Davis, but is within walking distance to the conference site and downtown restaurants. Here is a map detailing how to get to the PCGM from the Comfort Suites Hotel. Tell the hotel that you want a room from the block reserved for the UC Davis gravity meeting. Rooms at the Comfort Suite are only guaranteed to be available until February 28.


Holiday Inn Express

A block of 20 rooms is being held at the Holiday Inn Express, which is in the same neighborhood (very slightly farther from the University than the Comfort Suites). If you call the local Davis number, tell the hotel that you want a room from the block reserved for the gravity meeting. If you call the toll-free 800 number, tell them that you need the Government Rate of $80. Rooms at the Holiday Inn Express are only guaranteed until March 1.


University Park Inn

We have made arrangements to reserve a block of 12 rooms at the University Park Inn. The group rate for the conference is $75 for any of the rooms. They have 10 king suites (two rooms, king size bed plus a sofa bed in the living room) and 2 double queen suites (two rooms, 2 queen size beds plus a sofa bed in the living room). The hotel is next to Cafe Italia and closer to campus than the other two hotels. The rooms from the block are guaranteed to be available until March 20, but the group rate will apply anytime if rooms are still available.

Other Options

There may be a few rooms still available at downtown hotels -- you can try the listings at the Web sites below -- but they are scarce, and are going fast. There are also a few less expensive motels (Motel 6, for example), but these are not within walking distance of the conference.


Parking

The parking lot closest to PCGM is just west of the Mrak Hall circle.

From Richards Boulevard:
  1. Turn left on 1st Street
  2. Turn left on A Street
  3. Turn right on Old Davis Road
  4. Turn right on Mrak Hall Drive
From the I-80 West Highway:
  1. Take the UC Davis exit
  2. Turn right on Old Davis Road
  3. Turn left on Mrak Hall Drive
